POTD – Another scrawl

This appeared last week near the Connswater bridge after reports of suspicious activity

As the linked report notes there actually haven’t been any abductions

    Classic mass hysteria?

  • joeCanuck

Perhaps, Cynic2. But the seriouness of even one attempt shouldn’t be downplayed; the outcome of one abduction could be horrendous and, if the perp wasn’t caught, the future outcomes could even be worse.

  • Cynic2

I understand that there isn’t even evidence of one attempt

Such crass graffiti. It is not as if there are areas proclaiming themselves to be paedophile-friendly with signs that read:

    Child Abuctors Welcome.

Or at least not to my knowledge.

I have often considered that there might be a profit to made from marketing t-shirts displaying the tasteful logo:

    I Am Not A Paedo !

so that concerned citizens could feel justified in beating up anyone who was not wearing one. Of course in order to sustain the market I would have to launch an upgrade every now and then. The first Mk. 2 version would read:

    I AM NOT A PAEDO – HONEST !

and those still wearing the Mk. 1 version could now also be safely considered to be targets of the public wrath.

  • Now thats just childish Rory

Merely obeying the Christian imperative, Moochin:

Matthew 18: Be ye as little children…

  • Cynic2

Can we get the bad men to take him away?

  • Greenflag

‘The meek shall inherit the earth’ crieth the sandwich boardman

In another universe perhaps 😉 crieth the banker , politician, corporate executive and mandarin .

  • Gf,

“Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business”

Where are the Munificent Seven when you need them?

  • Would that be the Irish cabinet then Nevin?

  • Ceist

A few worrying things written (pasted) on the walls of East Belfast recently.

  • joeCanuck

And that’s it, Ceist? Care to elaborate? Take a few pics and share them, maybe?

  • Ceist – the posters about Raymond McCord have appeared in South Belfast aswell.
Whilst i have photos taken the very first day (they appeared overnight)- an editorial decision was made not to post them.
    They’re pretty insidious

  • Ceist

Aye there’s little worth in spreading the McCord posters but they’re prolific – having flyposted myself there was some team behind that one. The Sunday World thing was pretty widespread as well and the flyover at the bottom of the Newtownards road resembles a paramilitary noticeboard at times. The one I don’t get is the ‘Fat People are harder to kidnap’ thing down near Annadale flats?

Mod’s apol’s if this is opening a can of worms

  • I don’t think theres a problem Ceist,
I phoned Mick and discussed the posters the morning after they appeared and as i said a decision was made not to bother giving them the oxygen of publicity.

I think the Annadale Flats one is just a bit of craic (thanks for reminding me to get a photo of it)
