Join us for Slugger’s Big Election Punt event on Thurs the 1st of June…

What an exciting year for politics.

As we face yet another election join us to discuss the runners and riders in the race for seats. Who are the favourites? Who will be neck and neck? Who will be trailing the pack?

Brexit, the impending collapse of the Labour Party and decades of Tory rule. Not to mention President Trump. Join our expert panel to discuss all these issues and more:

The hosts for the evening will be our own David McCann and Alan Meban.

“We take our politics very seriously at MW Advocate, but with a dose of humour and good craic as well. We are delighted to partner Slugger O’Toole in this pre election event and I am sure the evening will appeal to all of the political anoraks and election junkies out there. We look forward to seeing you in the Dark Horse. ” Brendan Mulgrew, MW Advocate (event sponsor)

The venue is the Dark Horse Bar in the Cathedral Quarter. As always we are grateful to Willie Jack and the staff of the Dark Horse for their support of Slugger events.  The events kicks off at 7:15pm so you should aim to be there by 7pm to get a good seat.

Get your tickets below. This is a fundraising event to Keep Slugger Lit. Ticket price includes a complimentary light buffet.

  • Granni Trixie

Nobody on the panel representing the middle ground?

  • Brian O’Neill

Brendan is an ex sdlp special advisor.

  • Granni Trixie

I suppose I was looking for someone with whom I could identify.

  • Shinner O’Toole

Are Shinners allowed? Do we get banned before during or after the gathering?

  • Shinner O’Toole

Why? Can you not identify with humans?

  • Brian O’Neill

All welcome as long as they don’t scoff all the vol et Von’s.

  • Granni Trixie

Politically – not all humans. Who can?

  • Tiresias

Brendan Mulgrew’s comment suggests that he is expecting the event to be on the evening of 7th June not 1st. And a Westminster election is probably not best characterised as “a race to the hill”. Sorry to be pedantic, but removing any confusion about the date would be helpful.

  • Granni Trixie

    Some are on the panel.

  • Brian O’Neill

I know what you mean but we are just limited by space. If we covered every shade of politics the panel would be 20 people.

  • Am Ghobsmacht

I don’t think there’s actually any REAL horses so youse should be ok…

  • Brian O’Neill

Doh! Thanks for that. I have fixed it.
