    I think O’Gara is a good choice.
Although weak defensively, he will kick to the corners and stop the game from becoming too open.

Sexton is better held in reserve…

I hope Irelands experience shows through, hopefully wee keep it tight and just get by Wales.

Any word on the Best injury?

  • It’s great news that Best has made the line-up, although let’s hope that he is fully recovered and this isn’t a gamble. Murray played well in the previous game and on that basis has held his position.

I still maintain that O’Gara and Sexton can be accommodated in the same line-up with Sexton playing centre. D’Arcy’s the obvious man to make way, Although in fairness he also had a great game against Italy.

  • Glensman

I think having a quality 10 on and off the pitch (ready to step in) is preferrable to leaving out D’Arcy…

The Best news is good news- he’s finally showing some of the talent that I never saw in him…

I’d have Sexton over O Gara, I have to say; and surely Wales have to find a place for James Hook? It’s going to be a belter though, plus England v France … RWC starts for real here.

Murray has been playing well – as has O’Gara – but it’s at these two that Wales have to go for – both back row harrassment and Roberts smashing through O’Gara’s channel…..bring it on !!!!

Not one of the 44 players involved plays for an English club.

  • I think that Ronan O’Gara’s kicking is the factor which is most likely to make the difference in this match. If he is on form, it is goodbye Wales.

“Not one of the 44 players involved plays for an English club”

Thank you for that super-relevant piece of information. I suppose that for Rob Howley, the Welsh backs coach, his record of having played for Wasps is a stain on his career.

Seymour – there’s no cryptic point to that – it just shows the strength of Irish and, to a lesser degree, Welsh regional rugby.
