Nice propaganda piece from a DUP supporter…

During the SluggerConsults sessions one of the things we pushed was the idea that party’s should encouraged outsiders to do their guerilla messaging for them… This is a good simple and clear example of the ‘genre’… ‘Republican Promises – April Fool’…

The DUP2win slogan at the end was a real cracker, it has to be admitted

  • Wabbits

Babys win hands down with the voters every time !! Very cute in more ways than one.

  • RobertEmmett

lol… no really, the land is worth only a fiver..

  • That is a real winner, great stuff, come the election that will take some bettering.

Although at this very minute I would bet, the Tories or New Labour are stealing this guys idea.

  • By the way were was this first posted.

  • ignore last post

  • No need to bring babies into politics like this imo.

“Nice propaganda piece from a DUP supporter”

Mick, I hope this is your idea of April Fools cos that video is shite. Maybe you think 162 views is good though.

(actually 162 less the number of views generated by this thread)

the d.u.p are putting there trust in a baby now,i suppose it is better than listening to the babys who said there would be no policing and justice for 20 years.

  • RobertEmmett

or listening to those who said there would be a united ireland by 2016… no no, wait… 2014.

    eh Michael Henry?

  • Michaelhenry

its not 2016 yet r. emmett,or 2014 check your calendar if you do not belive me.

CAESAR: The ides of March are come.

SOOTHSAYER: Ay, Caesar; but not gone.

Rule 5 of the ‘Rules for Radicals’

“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.”

Neat little combination achieved by this one. Ridicule the Shinners which doesn’t do any harm but with the added bonus that by making SF look more ridiculous than dangerous defeats a vital plank of Jim Allister’s argument.

“Smash Sinn Fein” (1980s, 1990s, 2000-2007 DUP) – cue baby!

  • joeCanuck

Amusing. Could have been stronger at the end; say, voice over “It’s the way you tell ’em,Gerry”.

Watch the whole thing, Nevin’s link #8, and you’re almost sure to be laughing too.

  • pinni

The DUP didn’t succeed in smashing Sinn Fein, it just neutered them.

  • Comrade Stalin

I can’t believe this is worthy of billing on Slugger. It takes about ten minutes to put together a video like that. The clip was lifted from another existing Youtube clip (search “laughing baby”). It’s not even good.

  • pinni

Come on, CS, join in the fun. Don’t be such a party pooper! The ‘greening’ has given way to a little bit of realism. Even the spuds are turning orange!

  • Brian MacAodh

pathetic—one could put that together in 3 minutes.

how does this get it’s own post?

  • joeCanuck

Prove it Brian. Timer ready; 3,2,1 go.

  • Stephen Blacker

Brilliant new slogan for the DUP, but where have i seen it before??

Yeah thats right, the Progressive Unionist Party have had it for the last two years!

    Bring on the baby!

  • pinni

pathetic—-one could put that together in 3 minutes.

You just don’t get it, Brian. It’s not the time it takes, it’s the genius of it.

Say it a thousand times with your eyes closed – no still not true pinni.

  • pinni

Bark, but no bite – just as it should be in a democratic society.

  • Seosamh913

    … that baby a heavy smoker ?

  • Drumlins Rock

up to 400 views now, not bad for a simple little clip, remember underestimate the power of video editing, remember the “victory jig on the garvaghey road”.

  • Carsons Cat

    Its closer to 600 views.

  • Drumlins Rock

    nah its about 750,

(ok im just bumping it lol)

  • OscarTheGrouch

I’m impressed, I never associated anyone in the DUP with a sense of humour! I enjoyed it, it made me laugh (in a good way) compared to our laughable politicians.

  • Carsons Cat

And I see Ian Jnr has done a personalised video for North Antrim

  • Carsons Cat

  • OscarTheGrouch

Good grief the videos get funnier! Thought its was funny that they had to resort to one bloke looking through a mail bag to show the dynamic nature of the DUP North Antrim ‘Nerve Centre’ (good name for it!)

Hey! and Wow! Jr has a big poster! Stop the press.

This could be one of the funniest elections yet!
