Plaid Cymru’s fearsome threesome pack quite a punch

Whilst looking for any reference to yesterday’s vote in the London media – came across that.
Cool or what?
“Tiny Plaid Cymru are a great parliamentary asset. Blair and Mittal’s £2m, that was them. They kicked off Cash for Honours. The Blair Impeachment project, they did that too. Llwyd and Adam Price (they are two-thirds of their party) have probably had more effect on Parliament than the entire Liberal Democrats.”

women have gone to jail for not paying their television licence

That can’t possibly be true, can it?
    Say it ain’t so, Joe.

It is undoubtedly true. Probably less so now, but certainly in the past.

it is true unfortunately. Women are jailed for offences men get suspended sentences or fines for.

A debate about whither imprisonment is needed. Surely we as 21st century beings can think of a better way of dealing with criminals than locking them up in a room the size of a typical bathroom

women are more harshly punished because to be even seen in the dock is perceived as a thudding fall from the pedestal of grace. The Judeo Christian tradition can be thanked for this double sided view of women from the virgin/whore paradigm

That is disgusting. Also incredibly stupid; the cost of even one day’s incarceration, including admin costs of actually putting them away must exceed the lost licence fee many times.
A prime example of the law (sometimes)being an ass.
