Quote of the day…

From a friend in the Ulster Unionists (whose party line, incidentally, is that The Plough IS a better eatery than The Hillside):

Inside sources indicate that the only delivery at Hillsborough Castle today will be a Dominos Pizza…

The same source further suggests we start a sweepstake on what hour Sinn Fein will walk out… Hmmm, I couldn’t possible comment on any of those weighty matters… but you might like to…

Well, as they missed their preferred Newsnight deadline – before the News at One; or just after it starts.

Mallie says the DUP aren’t even there. No urgency on their part by the looks of it but one wonders if it’s a wise move to be snubbing their Prime Minister so publicly. Sinn Féin should have walked weeks ago.

  • Cynic2

Government spin line on Gordon creating a ‘pathway to agreement’ is just so transparently untrue. yes another abject failure from Jonah Brown.

Never mind, now that Jonah’s on his way home, perhaps there’s a chance. Now who has he left in charge of negotiations. Ah yes, Woodward and BIFFO.

Oh dear. Get the ballot boxes ready

  • Banjaxed

When the DUPs send out a bumbling eejit like Edwin Poots to be interviewed by Nolan in the middle of alleged negotiations, as they did this morning, and when he falls over his own feet and there’s no kickback, anyone waiting on a successful outcome at this stage will be waiting longer than Godot. Pull the plug.

Be charitable afterall Brown has also to explain away the recovery from recession that is 0.1% growth – the last of the G10 counteries to emerge from recession. Woodward will be able to use his BBC experience to continue with the production,

  • Banjaxed

Yes, I know, I know. Godot wasn’t doing the waitng…

  • Banjaxed

    …And neither is Gordo!

So we’ve come to the point that Stephen Warke’s “jokes” make up entire threads on Slugger.

Nice to see that Slugger is at the cutting edge of political analysis.

Since you’re not answering your phone these days CC, what’s a blogger to do, but resort to humour…

Did they actually manage to agree on that? “I want Pepperoni” “NEVER! NO SALAMI”

Give us a break, what the hell else are we to talk about, anyway politics without humour is like ….. well, pathetic egotists squabbling over their own self importance.

  • Carsons Cat

    Mick,
If by some magic you do happen to know my phone number I can say that, hand on heart, you haven’t been calling it.

    Guess again.

Still doesn’t explain your promotion of the Warkian philosophy though.

  • Banjaxed

Quite obviously our Carson Cat has not a lot in common with the Cheshire variety.
