Hain, cleared, bids for comeback

Good news. Peter Hain is not corrupt.
“I chose to leave government to clear my name and I am pleased I have now done so.
I said all along that reporting some of the donations to my 2007 Labour party deputy leader campaign late was an honest mistake. Now everyone knows that it was…”I only left government to clear this up, and would like to return, but that is a matter for the Prime Minister.”

Trust him to hit the ground running straight away. But it beats me how his deputy leadership campaign managed to raise never mind spend so much money in such a forlorn hope.

Raised and spent more money than Welsh Labour spent on the last Assembly elections. Astonishing.

yes, quite noticeable how Hain has been in the media quite a bit this last few weeks: speaking in the Commons, interviews on the news. Its almost as if he’d been told that he’d got away with his ‘mistake’ and been given the green light to raise his profile again by someone.

The most despicable SOS we have had. And that’s not a compliment.

What does one expect from a former Liberal, who jumped ship to Labour to further his political career and whose tract record in the anti-apartheid movement, made him a terrorist in the same way as some of the Sinn Fein / IRA types, whose company he enjoyed whilst at Stormont.

With Labour, being a person of questionable character is a bonus, hence the reason Mandelson is back in Government for the third time, Blunkett is waiting for the call and no doubt this reprobrate Hain, will get his wish some day, that is if the Tories don’t come to power first.

Can’t wait until I hear it described as the soon to be de rigeur phrase an “error of judgement”!

Good to see that some MPs still accept that they are not above the law and are prepared to submit to investigation without hysterical shroud waving about Stalinism. Others could learn from this dignified approach.

If Sinn Fein wants to have a stall at Gay Pride 2009 selling baby bum products, I’m free that day for a commission. I don’t care if the gear is smuggled.

I have a helpful tip on the searching of Westminster MPs issue.

But tests carried out by 2,000 ordinary women has shown the answer may lie in Aldi, the budget supermarket, where the Siana Moisturising Anti-Wrinkle Cream beat off dozens of more expensive products to be named as the best anti-ageing cream on the market
