Threat to new powersharing deal

Cabinet disagreements threaten … deal? Sounds familiar? I wonder which one will get to the tape first?

Sounds like almost any cabinet I can think of, to be honest.

  • It was Sammy Mc Nally what done it

It may be early days – but the South Africa approach based on dialogue seems to have got them to this point – and a bit like Norn Iron they have now run into the ground. But the fact they have got to this point at all is suggests they are unlikely to let it all fall away now.

    As I see it

‘What’s the difference between the Zimbabwean Politics and Northern Ireland politcs ‘

The Zimbabweans have more hope 🙂

‘What’s the difference between the Zimbabwean economy and the Northern Ireland economy’

The Zimbabwean economy can only get better .

Seriously I thought the Northern Ireland ‘power sharing ‘ settlement was the most convoluted attempt in global political history to try to force a broadly acceptable (within these islands ) democracy on a State which in it’s present format can never be a ‘true ‘ democracy .

That was until I read the ‘Zimbabwean ‘ solution 🙁

Neither settlement will provide long term political stability -they can’t . Band aids at best but at least preferable to what has preceded them although in absolute terms this is more of Zimbabwe than Northern Ireland .

In the final analysis Northern Ireland has Direct Rule to fall back on .

The quickest way to get the NI bozos of DUP & SF to sort out their differences is to stop paying their salaries .

By now one would think that the taxpayers of England would have figured out that paying Northern Ireland politicians not to work only encourages them to work even less ?

‘this is more TRUE of Zimbabwe than Northern Ireland’
