Self righteous brothers and the ungentle art of creative futuring…

They can’t have been thinking of Slugger’s commenting zone, but it seems to me that this Enfield/Whitehouse sketch captures one of its little foibles reasonably well…

  • creative futuring: This course provides students with the creative dynamic to innovate, question and research transdisciplinarily. The course comprises five (5) themes: Mode-2 Knowledge Production; transdisciplinarity; analogous thinking; transdisciplinary scenario development; and emergence thinking. The course provides a foundation for inquiry and analysis and prepares the student for creative problem-solving and innovation in learning management settings.”

Is ‘creative futuring’ the new ‘design’? Did Comical Marty’s ‘lateral thinking’ come from the ‘new’ school of ‘creative futuring’? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Greenflag

    Nevin,

Now I see where you get your ‘creative’ futuring from for the 2016 ๐Ÿ™‚
Would love to see again a clip of Harry Enfield’s Ian Paisley v Gerry Adams cocktail party sketch . His Tory boy and New Labour Blair Boy were hilarious and both in retrospect and futurespect not too far removed from the truth .

Lateral thinking btw may have advantages over no thinking at all at all and may provide more stability in the NI context than the usual routine knee jerk reaction of those who hanker for a priviliged and cosseted past which will never return .

  • Not sure about the 20:16, Greenflag, but there is currently some ‘lateral thinking’ – or reimagining – being carried out with respect to the 15:51 et al …

Never mind Enfield, keep your Long Johns on:

  • susan

Mick Fealty, tell us, why do you hate America’s children?

    Only joking. Hilarious sketch, thanks.

  • TAFKABO

Of course the funniest thing is that we’re all watching and laughing at that sketch, convinced it portrays every other poster but ourselves.

  • Greenflag

Never mind Father Jack Hackett having his toy brick as long as nevin has his toy trains ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for the Bremner /Parr sketch on the Iraqi blood sacrifice . And in days of yore it came to pass etc etc ๐Ÿ™

I’ll keep the longjohns on until the Iraqis /Iranians invade Poland and then I’ll try to enlist on the winning side ๐Ÿ™‚

  • percy

tops Mick, way to go susan, and TAF I think you’re on to something. Sheeesh!

  • “as long as nevin has his toy trains :)”

Seymour, Greenflag, Seymour. I thought you would have got the message by now. That said, I’m told that although the change of ownership took place some years ago it would appear that it wasn’t registered with DRD, the folks responsible for railways. Surely not another example of Ballyallaght Syndrome …
