Banner dedicated to Ormeau Road Bookmakers killer carried at Belfast Orangefest

The main 12th July/ ‘Orangefest’ parade through Belfast last week included a banner dedicated to honouring Joe Bratty, the UDA leader behind the killing of 5 catholics at Sean Graham’s Bookmakers on the Ormeau Road in the early 1990s. The Orange Order has previously found itself facing an avalanche of criticism when members on parade through the area taunted locals about the killings (see picture.)

“will no longer host Orange order events”

The Orange Order is a fully legal organisation, first you want to stop them marching, now they are not allowed to have a private function.

You are a total bigot son. You have a long way to go in your personal journey to reality.

  • Jim, In the words of a much better and much shorter man than me “What you talking about?”

I’ve attended Irish League matches for many many years and never saw a loyalist flute band playing, most grounds have deacent PA systems and play music or Radio Ulster.

If Windsor Park is forced to stop hosting private events that bother you does that mean I the officials in Casement Park can’t hold Sinn Fein bashes either?

Most importantly who the fuck are you to say what a man can and can’t fly at his own home. As the old saying goes, I don’t agree with what he has to say but I’ll fight to the death for his right to say it, or in this case display it.

In response to bigger pictures earlier comment about the band being called U.F.F. before having to change our name, that is 100% false. I am one of the founder members of the band and from day one it was always called Ulster First Flute.
