The Blair Chair..

Newly re-elected Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has announced that the Irish Government is to provide an endowment of £5million to fund a professorship at the Institute of Irish Studies at the University of Liverpool – The Blair Chair of Irish Studies.. [Better make sure the lid’s tightly screwed down on that past then – Ed]

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern said: “It is a fitting way to mark Blair’s immense and historic contribution in helping bring peace to Ireland.”

Honorary knighthood for wait, Blair cant swing those kind of things anymore…

A solution presents itself, P. O’Neill. Why don’t you expel the 26 counties from Ireland for treason? Problem solved!

  • curious

Why dont the ROI join the “commonwealth of nations”
like these 53 independent sovereign states around the world?

That would give Gerry and SF a real headache

  • heck

Blair is a lying war criminal.

What’s next -the Hitler chair for Judaic Studies?

    the Paisley chair at maynooth?

maybe the bush endowment for peace studies?

  • I think I am going to be sick.

It gets better though. Blair is to be a “peace envoy” to the MIDDLE EAST! No, it’s not a joke.

How much do you have to pay to sit in it?

  • Curious – “Why dont the ROI join the “commonwealth of nations”
like these 53 independent sovereign states around the world?”

Err because it’s a completely pointless and purposeless organisation which would bring benefits to Ireland that would pretty much approach the square root of fuck all maybe?

  • I was truly angered at first, hearing the new positions this dreadful s.o.b. is receiving, but upon reflection, I am glad he is being put on the spot in the Middle East and in Ireland, and I hope it all works out.

I suspect, though, he will just be left with more gobshite all over himself when the dust settles in Palestine and beyond from his efforts, especially if the current arrangement in N. I. starts to unravel.

The Peace Process is the means by which Britain will extricate itself from it’s unwanted occupation of part of Ireland, and Blair had the gumption to hang onto the gift which Adams, Hume and the Irish Government had presented him with, unlike Major who missed his big chance.

If Blair wants to rescue his reputation by enabling Israel and the USA to withdraw from similar occupations in Palestine and Iraq then he should be congratulated.

Of course, unlike most Christians I believe in the possibility of redemption for sinners. 🙂
