Slugger League Update

The Premier League race may be over, Chelsea and Man Utd may be preparing for their 3rd/4th Place match in the Champions League (aka FA Cup Final) and Lawrie may have walked, but the REAL football business won’t be over until the fat lady sings on our own Slugger League. With just one more round of matches, Peter Fitzmaurice’s Locomotiv Galway are out in front on 1,952 points, with the chasing pack led by James McAteer, yours truly and Clady Cowboy all running out of time to catch the front runner. To put Peter’s formidable score in context, he is currently placed 6,063rd out of more than 1.27 million worldwide competitors. The winning trophy will be winging its way to the newly-crowned champ after Sunday’s round of matches, so whoever ends up on top will need to send me an email so I can get the Jules Rimet off asap.

Here’s the table as we enter the final gameweek. Good Luck!

Bugger it! I only got in to the top 50 for a couple of weeks…..

Was fun playing though. Thanks Chris for starting the league. Are we having another run later this year?

  • BP1078

Once I sussed out the transfer system, it was much more fun.
Thanks Chris for starting it, I’m going miss the Friday Morning selection meetings !

  • Mustapha Mond

    Thanks for the league Chris.

Well done Locomotiv Galway, just 166 points off the worlds top 50, a great score.

Here’s hoping I can stay in 10th spot ahead of peg salesman Gareth Murray and his Royston Vasey Rovers.
