Help keep Slugger lit for another 15 years by giving us a donation or taking out an ad on the site…

This month we celebrated our 15th Birthday. Over 36,000 posts and nearly a million comments later Slugger is stronger than ever. In the last month alone we have had over 150,000 readers! For those of you who love a bit of sexy data visualisation, we have this funky interactive report for our June traffic.

You may or may not know that Slugger does not get any funding of any kind. We value our independence and are likely never to apply for any funding. To paraphrase Blanche DuBois, ‘We have always depended on the kindness of strangers’.

None of the team gets paid. There is no paid staff of any kind. Frankly, it is amazing the site works at all but there you go.

Now although we run a very tight ship, there are still costs for hosting the site, expenses covering events, etc. In the past year, we have been doing more live events, and we also have our new TV show. We want to do more activities like this, but we need some cash to make it happen.

If you like what we do and want to keep the good ship Slugger afloat, please do make a donation. Consider it as buying us a birthday present or pint 🙂

If you are a business or organisation why not take out an ad on Slugger? Or sponsor one of our events? Because we only run premium ads, you get a fantastic response. If you are interested drop me an email to:

Do we have to pay to see the sexy visualisation?!

How much is an advert roughly?

At a guide they start from £100 a month but we are flexible.

    103,000 readers from Belfast?

Less than 0.1p per reader to reach engaged, literate (mostly) adults? That’s quite a bargain.

    It sure is 🙂

Will you accept adverts that go against the editorial line, such as a UI, on the basis that you cant be seen to be promoting something that is fundamentally against your beliefs?
    Cakegate strikes again???

No problem. I am a Marxist (Groucho)

The Ulster diaspora visualised! Either that or there are lots of Mongolians trying to work out who is going to blink first in the current negotiations.
