Who knew Nelson had a side line as a gospel singer? We are trying to track down the tape to put it online. Has anyone got a copy?

  • Nordie Northsider

    Jesus wept.

  • Morpheus

Just checked iTunes – no joy

Sings and plays the accordion, whether people here like it or not he is entitled to expressed his relgious faith however he wants.

  • Thomas Girvan

Is there no end to this man’s talent?
A stand up comedian and singer as well.
What’s the betting he ends up

  • Thomas Girvan

I got cut off in my prime.
I was about to say that Nelson will end up doing a scientific series on telly, telling us how Noah got dinosaurs on to the ark. etc.
    But I won’t!

Is Nelson wearing pink specs in that picture ?-

Standing in a garage doesn’t make you a mechanic any more than going to church makes you a christian. Is being economical with the truth a christian value you would espouse Joe ?

    Deirdre Barlow with a ‘tash!

got any of his records Joe, would love to hear him belt it out for jesus!

    OH Joe while your hear, care to comment on this blatant lie from yourself;

“. In fact Carl Marks claims that what the Orange did to him was too unspeakable to ever mention, yet he mentions it all the time without providing substance as to what it is or evidence that it happened.

do i have to remind you of the Ninth Commandant,

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour”

you being a Christian and all!

the shortest verse in the vBible, won a point in a pub quiz for that wee bit of info!

  • carl marks

probably not but his party has encourged a few to do gigs there!

Or a long overdue series, Thomas, explaining how the Ulster Scots are decended, via the Cruithine, from the wandering Israelite tribe of Dan, and remain God’s chosen, while the Gael are from inferior stock, not “people of the book”…….

    See “Notable adherents”:

Please note that, being a bit flakey myself, I personally would defend to the uttermost Nelson’s right to believe anything he wants to, just as long as it does not influence his political responsibilities in fully representing people who may not share his views. But, alas, it does, as in the Creationist row in 2010.

On a serious note, certian sects of orthadox Jews find that their beliefs are so entirely at odds with the secular values of the state of Israel that they must entirely boycott politics to avoid moral contamination. A good, honourable model for anyone in the DUP and in other political parties who might otherwise wish to impose minority views on those who do not share them in a kind of “Theocracy Lite” inspired by bizarre visions of the seventeenth century Scots Covenanter State.

For those missing the point “Rose tinted glasses”……..

Nelson Rose under Paisley and was cut down by Robinson-

I think there’s something of the Cliff Richards about him, all together now “got myself a crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living doll”

  • SeaanUiNeill

Thanks for that pun, Michael-Henry! And on the subject of word play, the rejection of the Irish language by Nelson and his pals has robbed them of a great heritage of wordplay!

I’d tried translating some of their names to see if that could open their eyes. Peader MacSpideog has a great ring when you say it out loud! Any offers for Nelson?

  • Joe_Hoggs

Family members have heard him sing and he also preaches at various religious establishments and church halls etc. Nigel Dodds also does this.

  • carl marks

can we believe you Joe after all we have proof that you shall we say flexible with the truth, man up and either apologize to me for your statement or defend it!

  • carl marks

well Joe no answer, you have confirmed all i thought about the OO, pity i thought there might have been real Christians among them seems i was wrong.
