Caption competition

In the week of Scarfe-gate it was great to see the View’s feature on Northern Ireland political cartoons. Though it was a little short…

Cartoons are a powerful and emotive medium that tell a story in a way no words can.

We have a great tradition of cartoonists here in NI and Ireland, from Rowel Friars and his acerbic pen, Ian Knox and his consistent wit to Martyn Turner and his bright and illustrated word play. Quite a legacy. One I hope to build on and contribute to in some way.

But for now, please fire off some captions for my tribute to the latest O’Dowd-Poots tete-a-tete.

Good job you told us who they were. That’s just a comment, incidentally, not a caption suggestion.

Friars, Knox, Turner, and Spencer? Methinks, you flatter yourself!

If you won the lottery, would you still love me?

Of course I would. I’d miss you, but I’d still love you…
