Innovating for Social Change? (Starting at 1pm)

So today we have our first non Friday #DigitalLunch which starts at 1pm today. It’s the first of six such events and is produced in association with the Building Change Trust.

The purpose is, in part, to take a term that is often bandied around as though there were a understanding it means to jargon bust the term social innovation.

All #DigitalLunch panels work in more or less the same way. It’s created in what amounts to a video chat room in Google Plus that is broadcast live to YouTube.

Our invited panel today includes Stuart Baillie from the Oh Yeah Centre in Belfast, Rob Hopkins, co-founder of the Transition Towns initiative, Dougald Hine who worked in Geoff Mulgan at the Young Foundation, Mick Kelly of GIY Ireland and Maeve Monaghan of the University of Ulster.

We’ll also be joined by Nigel McKinney and Charlie Fisher from Building Change Trust. Ni

But the real advantage of the DigitalLunch format is that you can have your own input. If you’re on Google Plus, and you let me know, I can bring you into the panel discussion.

Just to keep things orderly, you will need to flag up to me that you want to come in. Then I will send you the relevant link.

Certainly if everyone shows, there will only be a couple spaces free, so we may need to just hot seat you for your question and just stay for five.

Otherwise, we’ll take any on topic questions you may have from this thread before broadcast at 1pm, or from YouTube or Google Plus from 1pm onwards.

I’ll be embedding the live video of the conversation into this post just before 1pm. You’ll be able then to follow the link to the relevant YouTube page from there.
