Slugger Awards tickets / Irish Election prediction competition

One of the features of the Slugger Awards night (places limited! Get your tickets now while they last!) is going to be a bit of audience participation – we’re going to see how close the wisdom of the crowd can get to predicting the final outcome of the Irish Election in terms of seats. Details of that will be released on the night (it’ll be a surprise) but in the meantime, we also want a prediction comp to run though the site here.

If you prefer, we’ll keep your identity secret in the near-certainty that you win the comp.

A few things to remember:

So, there’s the form-card. Now the prediction form:

I see no-one is brave enough to have a go and that includes me. One thing is for sure FF will actually poll much better than everyone thinks. When it comes to the day there will be too many loyal supporters who will not consider voting for anyone else.

    John,

I’m holding fire in the hope the author may alter the format.

You can’t predict the seats for Greens while they have more than SF? There is no ULA option?

Greens/ULA/Independents all in the same box – doesn’t seem right to me.

  • While you’re idling Mark, make yourself useful and take down the picture on the last editorial you posted.

  • Stephen Blacker

When I add up the number of seats I keep getting 166 – is there one less seat this time?? Or is that the “Speakers” seat?

  • Mark McGregor

    Stephen,

You’re right. Speaker holds his seat without contest.

  • Stephen Blacker

Thank you for that Mark! I would hate to lose out on a technicality – ha ha!
