Cheap flights explained

I probably wouldn’t usually use Slugger to just post up funny things seen on the internet, but seeing as ‘budget’ airlines business practices and the politiking around City Airport have been a theme here, I thought you’d enjoy this from Fascinating Aida:

what is it with you residents of south belfast and your perpetual, insulated bubble of refusing to discuss the biggest event in the western world which is happening this weekend???

There’s threads on water, cheap flights, water, leadership battles, more water…etc.. ad nauseum., but still you bunch of faithless , skeptical, ignoramus heathens ignore the answer to the only true question on peoples lips….

Will Benedict the first of Down lift the sacred Chalice so beloved by Cork as the same Chalice bears the name of one of them ?

I have checked sacred script, and it is written that the true, undefeated Kingdom will triumph in the Final battle between the men of the Dark Mournes and the Rebels.

However I am open to other suggestions!

Katie Taylor wins World Boxing Championships

Katie Taylor has won the gold medal at the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships in Barbados, with an 18-5 victory over China’s Cheng Dong in the 60kg final.

The victory is Taylor’s third successive gold medal in the event, following previous triumphs in 2006 and 2008.

The first round in Barbados was a tight affair which Taylor edged 4-2, with both fighters showing plenty of verve and most definitely no fatigue following four previous fights to reach the final stage of the competition.

Taylor went out to 8-2 ahead with a smooth second round, before a quick pair of points on the sound of the bell gave Taylor a 10-2 lead going into the third round. This was the also score at the same stage of Taylor’s semi-final bout, which she went on to win by only two points.

Taylor delivered an assured third round performance to extend her lead to 13-3. The highlight of the round being a massive left hook which nearly flattened her Chinese opponent.

Up Down seems appropriate for tomorrow ! I hope they bate the Cork men back to Bandon by at least 6 points .

Got this on the phone from a Cork supporter yesterday…….

” It is bad enough to see Sam going back over the border to the Kingdom without seeing it going up over the border to the F’ing United Kingdom.”

Paddywhackery at its finest. It’s scary to think they’ve been around for 25 years… and that I had completely forgotten that I was a fan of theirs yonks ago!
