Magners League Weekend 14

Last night saw Ulster slip out of serious play-off contention whilst the Scarlets defeat in Scotland puts them in desperate straits.

Cardiff Blues 19-9 Ulster
Edinburgh 24-20 Scarlets
Munster 27-19 Glasgow
Here’s the table.
Two games today – Leinester will consolidate lead – I’m off to Newport to see if the Dragons can take over top Welsh spot.
Leinster 17 – 14 Connacht
Newport Gwent Dragons 28-20 Ospreys

Wonderful Dragons performance in an excellent game.

  • Ulster seem to have the players but dont seem to have gelled yet, when they do they will be a credible force and will challenge in Europe. No need to panic.

Welsh regional rugby will need to panic soon if they cant tap into the massive interest for the international game and start to make some European progress.

Protocol warning: Please adjust your mindset
For those of a particulalry tribal and/or sensitive disposition and those unable to judge an arguement on it’s merits please be aware that the term Unionist in my name is not an accurate reflection of my political views though it should also be noted that my paternal grandfather was a keen supporter of the Union and I am invoking the FIFA grandparent rule and am opting to call myself so. (I’m sure he would have approved.)

Dragons really good v a top strength Ospreys. Scarlets look doomed.
