As luck would have it, I’ll be in Dublin on Wednesday night, where Leviathan is asking what is leadership in the Modern World? Wireless permitting, I’ll be live blogging from there, hopefully with video interviews available afterwards. If you want to catch the blog as it happens, sign up for a reminder above… If you’re going along let me know… If neither, let us know what you think leadership in this chaotic modern world entails… Details of the event below the fold…Wednesday March 18th @ 8pm

Leadership in the Modern World?
Hosted by David McWilliams
As we reel from the impact of the global economic disaster still unfolding around us, we instinctively yearn for leadership to provide reassurance, solutions and hope. Will this yearning be fulfilled by political leaders or from a new source? Is Ireland endowed with leaders of sufficient quality to dig us out of this hole? Who has the necessary qualities? Should we not be very wary of “strong leadership” given the murderous history of such leaders responding to economic crises?
These questions and many more will be addressed by our panel which includes, among others, Labour Party leader, Eamon Gilmore ; business leader and Dragon’s Den star, Sarah Newman; SIPTU General President, Jack O’Connor ; David O’Meara, MD of Havok software; and sports psychologist, Gerry Hussey. As ever, you the audience will be the extra panel member with your comments and questions from the floor throughout.
As always there’ll be musical satire from Paddy Cullivan , standup comedy from Colm O’Regan and a brand new film from Derek O’Connor of The Chancer and Ian Whelan
