If the notoriously unpredictable French can replicate their performance against Wales they should prove too strong for an equally notoriously ill-disciplined England at Twickenham today. If they do, they will keep alive an outside chance of taking the championship ‘against the head’ in their final match against Italy. Eddie Butler is hoping for something dramatic – “Don’t expect subtlety to be the order of the day when two jumbo teams collide.” England v France – Kick-off 3pm.Half-Time England 29 – 0 France. The French are in tatters against a much improved England side. Final England 34 – 10 France. France recovered some of their poise in the second half but too late to rescue the game.
