Executive ‘power vacuum’ continues

Confirmation, if any were needed, that the power vacuum at the centre of the Northern Ireland administration is to continue through the summer. As Mick noted previously, the NI Executive last met on June 19th. From the iol report

Officials today confirmed Thursday’s meeting had been cancelled and while they insisted the work of government continues, the decision means the Northern Ireland Assembly’s ruling Executive has not met in more than a month.

Sinn Féin junior minister Gerry Kelly denied there was a crisis.
