Stats show rise in Orange hall attacks…

THIS year has seen a steep rise in the number of attacks on Orange halls, according to police statistics. And the News Letter reports only two cases of criminal damage have been cleared by means of a charge or summons over the last six years. Hardly ethnic cleansing, but maybe more than just a succession of isolated incidents – especially around Magherafelt.

  • At least there’s no more Young Shinners on any more roofs.

  • abucs

Any thoughts on if there are specifics on why it’s happening ?

How many halls in the republic get attacked, does anybody know?

  • At least one in Co. Cavan was burnt out recently.

  • Ignited

Don’t forget the threats that were made against the key holders/caretakers of some halls last month.

Its a worrying statistic that hopefully is nothing more than a reaction to the new dispensation that will die off over time. Could also be a little diversory tactic to keep the unhappy children occupied.

  • Is there any proposed explanation for the surge in attacks, and who are perpetrating them, specifically?
