Press Commission rules against unionist spokesman

The Press Complaints Commission has ruled against Lee Reynolds of the Community Convention and Development Company after the unionist spokesman had alleged the Andersonstown News had breached the accuracy requirements of the Commission’s Code. Mr. Reynolds had first stated his intention to take the case on a discussion thread on this website.

I´m afraid Lee Reynolds ego has got the better of him again.

Lee insisting that the Andytown News print an apology penned by him is laughable particularly as they did publish his letter to the editor.

Lee has been a community leader for years now and is always thinking up new initiatives to better the Protestant community. This is admirable.

However he should stay out of Politics, as long as egos like his try to boost their own political profile the longer Nationalists/Republicabs will make mince meat out of Unionism.

You win some and you lose some.

“Lee insisting that the Andytown News print an apology penned by him”

What is described as an eleventh hour attempt to resolve the issue was at the request of the Press Complaints Commission. It asked for the draft so it was not my “ego” run amok. If you read the PCC material you will see they attempt to resolve disputes rather than formally adjudicate.

“Lee has been a community leader for years now and is always thinking up new initiatives to better the Protestant community. This is admirable.”

    Thank you.

Isn’t this a funny thread?! Fair play to Lee for dealing with all this.
