Hardy sentenced to 6 years

After Leonard Hardy pleaded guilty to all charges it was only a question of what length of sentence would be returned in a German court for the 5 charges of attempted murder and another charge of attempting to cause an explosion during an IRA bomb attack on a British Army base in Osnabruck in 1989. Rather than the 9 to 12 years the others involved received, when they were convicted in 1995, Hardy’s guilty plea, and his not contesting extradition, seems to have contributed to the shorter 6 year sentence he received today. Btw the BBC seems slightly confused about the timeline since Hardy’s arrest.
