Scammers moving to Ireland?

In the last few days I’ve begun to recieve 419 scammers claiming they are based in the Republic, or acting for people supposedly based there. These are the first I’ve received from a developed country. The Register recently did a full blown analysis of the scams and how they work, and there’s the interview I did for the Daily Summit.

The latest is from a Jack Moody. The prose has a distinctly African feel to it:

“I am contacting you in regards to a business transfer of a hugh sum of money from a deceased account. Though I know that a transaction of this magnitude will make any one apprehensive and worried, but I am assuring you that all will be well at the end of the day. We decided to contact you due to the urgency of this transaction”.

I’d like to keep up with any developments on this issue. If you hear more, please let us know?
