Former Ambassador backs Bush and Nader

The most recent US Ambassador to Dublin Richard Egan, is still capable of making front page news in the Irish Times. Sean O’Driscoll reports on his donation to Ralph Nader’s presidential campaign, in hopes of splitting the Democratic vote as effectively as he did last time out.

I doubt we’ll see born again Democrat Michael Moore using his new blog to urge US voters to go for a split vote like he did in 2000.

Whilst we have the excuse to nod to that little event across the big sheugh, Jonathan Rauch has an interesting line to sell John Kerry and the Democrats. It’s worth reading, if only on the principle of disrupting your political opponent’s expectations.

For over 20 years, Slugger has been an independent place for debate and new ideas. We have published over 40,000 posts and over one and a half million comments on the site. Each month we have over 70,000 readers. All this we have accomplished with only volunteers we have never had any paid staff.

Slugger does not receive any funding, and we respect our readers, so we will never run intrusive ads or sponsored posts. Instead, we are reader-supported. Help us keep Slugger independent by becoming a friend of Slugger. While we run a tight ship and no one gets paid to write, we need money to help us cover our costs.
