In the last four or five months, the comments fields here have become a key element to the dialoging aspect to Slugger – but only insofaras it adds substantially to the content of the site. We’ve deliberately provided few formal rules of engagement to encourage easy flow in the conversation. However, to prevent the editing or removal of contributor’s work, ad hominem attacks should be avoided. Or in soccer terms; play the ball, not the man. It makes for better reading, and you are more far likely to get your point across to the site’s rapidly growing readership!
Mick is founding editor of Slugger. He has written papers on the impacts of the Internet on politics and the wider media and is a regular guest and speaking events across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Twitter: @MickFealty
