| Readers 10

In their second ICC World Twenty20 Super8 game Ireland are taking on Sri Lanka at Lords. Live text here. Radio 5Live coverage [UK only RealPlayer], and the Cricinfo scoreboard. And the recalled Boyd Rankin has made an impact in the first over dismissing opener Dilshan for no runs. Adds Or you can follow Dave’s live-blogging.. Sri Lanka 144-9 off 20 overs. Jayasuriya lbw b McCallan 27 from 27 balls (5×4). Jayawardene b Cusack 78 from 53 balls (9×4 1×6). Superb performance from a much improved Ireland in the field. Early wickets followed by effective containment. It’s still a tough target [145] against the Sri Lankan bowling attack. Ireland 135-7 off 20 overs. NJ O’Brien injured in 6th over. But will continue. Porterfield c Sangakkara b Muralitharan 31 from 29 balls (5×4). White c Sangakkara b Kulasekara 22 (1×4 1×6). NJ O’Brien stumped b Mendis 31 from 37 balls (4×4). A promising solid start by Ireland’s openers but, in the end, the strength and experience of the Sri Lankans made the difference. Just.
