The many many faces of Arlene Foster…

Right, sorry Arlene, but I’m afraid cannot resist sharing this masterpiece by the Andersonstown News man’s man Squinter, aka Robin Livingstone….

  • Granni Trixie

In her own way Arlene is the only match for Jim Allister and the one to watch when Robbo leaves the stage.

  • IanR

Didn’t she attend the trial of Gerry McGeough in support of DUP Cllr Sammy Brush (the victim/witness)?

In which case, her copybook is blotted somewhat in light of the latest furore around the OTRs, as she more than most in the DUP should have been aware of the workings of the ‘administrative scheme’.

  • ArdoyneUnionist

If squinter was to do the same to Gerry “I was never in the IRA” Adams, he would have the offending article removed and made to make a grovelling apology.

  • Charles_Gould

There actually was a lot of vile sexist comments about Arlene on twitter that night (on which Robin Livingstone was recording her images to his pc). To be condemned.

  • Niall Noigiallach

Charles, the link between the sexist comments and Squinter is what exactly?

  • Son of Strongbow

To be fair the same thing couldn’t be done for Gerry. He has way too many faces to catalogue.

  • between the bridges

Tbf that is quite funny, it would be good to see the rest of the panel…

  • DoppiaVu

The reason I’m uncomfortable with this is that there’s no shortage of NI politicians that he could have done this with, with much funnier results. But then they probably wouldn’t have been women.

Anyway, I’ve seen the comments on Twitter, he got exactly the reaction he was looking for.

No Arlene is all about the faces. Despite being fairly articulate and seemingly intelligent I have always thought she let’s herself down by pulling faces. It’s the overthrow eyes rolling incredulous look I’m thinking off particularly

    Not overthrow

  • Granni Trixie

I see her as especially articulate and intelligent …I mean look at how she filled in when Robbo went on walkabout, not many of her peers could have handled all the baggage thrown at the DUP at that time.
I suspect PR gave her that role because he wanted to deny the opportunity to some others but infact I believe he underestimated her ability. Could be that in the end she is “too moderate”o lead the DUP but she certainly has the potential.

Put it another way,if the leader of the SDLP had half her presentional skills or intelligence I would put up with annoying body mannerisms.

  • Niall Noigiallach

Arlene Foster too moderate? Who are the hardliners then? She lacks the patience required for a good debate and gets visibly annoyed when sharing a panel with anyone of a different opinion. The Nolan Show last week was a perfect example. The body language and facial expressions were all a sign that she’s sometimes not confident in what she says. I’d like to see her in debate with younger females from the other parties, I don’t know why but she seems to get a bit irked when sharing a platform with other female politicians

  • Granni Trixie

This is getting to be a bit of a half full or half empty discussion with me seeing her as half full (in a manner of speaking). Because I quite enjoy her performances I had not noticed the negative aspects many of you are referring to,especially as regards Nialls ref to,younger women.
