We will be using Sinn Féin’s UStream channel (when online) and a Coveritlive blog drawing in twitter comment during the SF Ard Fheis.

If you want to suggest other content or offer assistance moderating the liveblog let us know.

Rev Latimer has received a standing ovation. Spoke of his proud Unionist heritage but he has also described Martin McGuinness as “one of the great leaders of our times”.

  • Mark McGregor

    keano,

I’ve now added the link to that speech in a stand alone entry.

  • keano10

    Thanks Mark

  • Mark McGregor

    keano,

Don’t ‘thank’ me. Email me with an agreement to help moderate the liveblog tomorrow! Watching the coverage and twitter feed is causing flashbacks and bringing me seriously down 😉

  • keano10

Lol Mark! I’d love to help but I’m in charge of my three-year old daughter tomorrow as her mum is working and she is gonna run rings around me all day!

Mark it seems to me that you miss Sinn Fein,

The Rev. David Latimer has shown a high degree of courage. He is a true Irish hero. His outline of the last few years, and his acceptance of the role played by his church in discrimination, highlights the past, but outlines the future. A future of togetherness. His words will be seen by most unionists as progressive, and they can take solace from his actions.

“It’s time to shake free the restricting shames of history”

    J Kelly,

Of course I miss this comradery of SF even many years after walking but I, unlike former comrades ,didn’t have to give up most of my politics.
