Irish Blog Awards tomorrow night…

Irish Blog Awards Alert, this Saturday… Damien’s hosting it in Galway this year… You can pick through the shortlisted here… If you want to follow the events as they unfold, sign up to the official Twitterfeed… And if you are going and are a pol blogger, James Lawless is organising a pre event get together in (where else?) the Dail Bar, Middle street, Galway…

Good to see Slugger made the short list.Fingers crossed.

  • Mick Fealty

Ever the bridesmaid though Granni… Was hoping we’d have had the new site ready before the cut off for qualifying… Sadly, it was not to be… Next year, maybe we’ll do something to deserve it…

  • Mark McGregor

I’d suggest sacking me would increase your chances considerably!

(Mark McGregor not blogging from Galway in a tux with a draft speech)

  • Dan Sullivan

I would have thought that this really should be slugger’s year but there again I wouldn’t be too astounded, disappointed maybe, but not astounded though if the judges decide to be overly new-new about it all. But sure who knows how the minds of judges work in these things, I bet even they don’t.

I presume the lovely person acting as the independent adjudicator and handling the envelopes will be able to outdo Jean Byrne in the blogosphere dress sense commentary this year. There is an independent adjudicator right, it’s not like this is some tinpot effort.

  • Dan Sullivan

Mark, Slugger won so the investment in the tux paid off. How did the speech go?

Congratulations to Mick Fealty and his team on winning the Best Political Blog Award (and commiserations to the young socialist upstart Jason O’Mahony).

  • Pete Baker

On behalf of the “slugtards” I’d like to thank the Academy, our friends and family and, most importantly, God, for this well deserved, nay overdue, recognition by the Irish Blog Awards.

  • About time! Pleased to see it.

  • granni trixie

Tomorrow the world! Well done all involved, particularly Daddy Mick.

  • Belfast Gonzo

    Nice one Mick.

  • Mark McGregor

    Well deserved Mick.
