Got that text myself, pretty funny but not that accurate when you see they still have 25% of the vote!

  • 2050

Thought they did surprisingly well considering the last 12 months and their vote held up well. They didn’t get as bad a drubbing as Labour in mainland UK

  • LURIG

Hate the corrupt bastards with a passion. They have lined their own pockets for decades at the expense of hard working people. Should Sinn Fein & the DUP not reconsider their positions and question their own morality before indulging in political discussions with these brown envelope gangsters? Fianna Fail should be deloused and thoroughly cleansed before they are allowed to engage with democrats again, they are rotten to the core. The Northern Executive should boycott these crooks and refuse to meet them with regards to any official business. They should wear sackcloth and ashes and spend a considerable time in the wilderness before respectable democrats in the DUP & Sinn Fein talk to them again. Lord Alderdice and his monitoring body should now investigate the festering boil that is Fianna Fail. They nauseate decent folk!

    Lurig, I think you’re holding back…

    The Gombeen Herald reports.

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing away of the head of the family business Gobshite-Ireland Ltd. It is believed that the family, in a suprise move, will opt for the inexperienced and less well known sibling of the deceased to assume control. The siblings, although sharing exactly the same views on how the family business should be run, are believed to have fallen out as a result of a family fued strectching back to the early years of the last century when the business was being set up.

The business had recently been going through a very difficult tradeing period and this pressure coupled with persistent rumours of dishonesty is belived to be the cause of the proprietor’s ill health and ultimately his death.

It is not expected that Gobshite-Ireland Ltd customers will notice any difference after this change of control and the Gombeen Herald was reassured to see a large sign hanging outside the premises promising “business as usual”.

    ends.

Thomas Jefferson said any decent democracy needs a revoltion at least once a generation. Ladies and gentlemen time please!

lcatcheeco: Ladies and gentlemen time please!

Unfortunately, voters in the south will continue to vote in their own worst interests for the forseeable future.

Perhaps if the national economy breaks and ATMs stop working we will see some change… Even so, don’t hold your breath.

    ‘The sheep look up.’

It is unbelievable that so many people voted for a party that is Institutionally corrupt.

It can only be concluded that these voters admire institutionally corrupt politicians.

  • It looks like the Green Party hold the keys to the future in ROI.

Have they the balls to pull out of Govt?

They seem to be damned if they do and damned if they dont.

  • “Should Sinn Fein & the DUP not reconsider their positions and question their own morality before indulging in political discussions with these brown envelope gangsters?”

Lurig, what makes you think there’s a lot of morality in any of them? We already know that SF is part of PRM, an organisation with its own organised crime wing. Who’s going to argue that the DUP is whiter than white?

  • Greenflag

Let him who is without sin cast the first brown envelope .

FF will rise again and lest we forget will remain the Government until 2012 unless the Greens have a taste for hari kari . Always a possibility with political newbies .

The Irish voters are quite capable of delivering a non fatal kick in the goolies to any government in local or european elections . It’s a long long way to 2012 .

    seymour major ,

‘They seem to be damned if they do and damned if they dont.’

Exactly. In these situations the safest strategy is always to play for time on the basis that something may turn up ? Who now recalls Mr Kinnocks being anointed Prime Minister a few elections ago – that is until the votes were counted .

“Thomas Jefferson said any decent democracy needs a revoltion at least once a generation. Ladies and gentlemen time please!”

    He said no such thing

Don’t count the buggers out just yet, what did the Cruiser say about stakes at midnight at the crossroads?

FF will be back, bet on it.
