Big Brother is watching you, just not very well…

AFTER flagging up how Northern Ireland is being treated differently from the rest of the UK when it comes to plans for licence plate insignia, another similar anomoly has popped up. It appears that the Automatic Number Plate Recognition in Great Britain doesn’t work properly Northern Irish number plates, resulting in problems for drivers from here when in England. The ANPR mass surveillence system in England doesn’t seem to be able to tell if a car with an NI registration has passed its MoT. For this woman, the police in England didn’t seem willing to accept that it’s the system rather than the driver that is at fault.

    As British as Finchley eh?

  • Comrade Stalin

We really do need a national system of vehicle registration, MOT testing and driver testing rather than the nonsense we have right now.
