Slugger O’Toole, 5-25, Epsom…

You’ll hardly pull £8k on this three year old with the familiar name, but it’s running in the last race at Epsom, has decent form, and is tipped by the Sporting Life.

Mick is founding editor of Slugger. He has written papers on the impacts of the Internet on politics and the wider media and is a regular guest and speaking events across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Twitter: @MickFealty

A cautionary note to any Sluggerites thinking off backing this:-

The track at Epsom is going to be extensively watered over the coming days; the suspicion being that tomorrow’s Epsom Derby lacked sufficient

During the week, Jim Bolger declares New Approach will in fact run in the Derby, despite venhomently denying after the Irish 2,000 Guineas that his
stable star would not be sent to Epsom.

Cue murder from punters who’d backed other selections ante-post at lower prices (effectively, racing’s “Rule 4” in reverse).

Moral of the story? What ground does New Approach like – “Good to Soft”…..Conspiracy??

So just check that S O’T can handle this type of ground, or alternatively just watch ATR (“At The Races”) in your local betting shop for a few minutes
before the race; you’ll get an inkling then of the Epsom ground conditions.

Good Luck if you do plunge!!
