Heads up for Drivetime…

Okay. There’s no knowing how this deal is going to pan out in Dublin. Or when it might be resolved one way or the other. If we are still in suspended animation by about 5.20 this afternoon, Mary Wilson will be featuring some blogger comment (including some from our regular Sluggerites) on Drivetime, on RTE Radio 1 this evening, followed by a short commentary from yours truly, who will, probably quite rashly and with a minimal amount of solid evidence, make a call on how the deal is likely to go… If there is a deal before then, then of course none of this will all have been a figment of our fevered imagination…

I bet tweedle dee will be in government. No, sorry, that should be tweedle dum. Well, one or t’other!

Aquifer already nabbed that one a few days ws…

  • Wee slabber

Damn – and I thought I was soooooooooo clever! Good luck on the radio!

  • Frank Sinistra

I take it you aren’t on now the FF/Gn talks have collapsed?

  • The only question is what could Bertie possibly offer the greens beyond a ride in a ministerial limo, there is nothing. If the greens took up his offer they would be finished.

  • Ah, just seen on RTE the talks have collapsed, well done to the Green for giving Bertie the run around. Those who were gullible enough to believe a deal could be made based their judgement partly on the German experience, but that was a red-green coalition, all be it not the deepest red. Bertie is a neo liberal economically, something Schröder never was. A deal was never on for two reasons, the membership would not have stood for it and the Greens are a progressive party which FF sure as hell is not.

What this shows was just how off beam Adams judgement was in his rush to get into bed with Bertie, it cost his party dear and the greens took that on board immediately.

Not sure was giving whom the run around… Cowan playing hardball. Eyes now turn to PDs and independents… then Co location might stay in… Bigger deal with Labour, it’s gone… It’s just amazing the difference a few more bums on Dail seats make…

Suspect FS was right earlier when he said they would have problems if they didn’t get a deal sound enough to get past the convention on Sunday.

lol Right about now they are probably wishing they didn’t go spouting off about SF, even if they don’t like their economic policies
