Here’s a thing. IrishElection.com’s killer app for Friday’s result day is a text messaging system that will bring you results as they get them from the count centres. It will be hard to beat the speed and authority of RTE’s reporting, since they far and away outshone the BBC during the Assembly elections in March. But, they will do their best! The really clever bit: the guys at IE Central are using Twitter to transmit their messages, so whereas RTE will cost you 25c a text, this service will not cost you a penny. Just register at the Twitter home page, and then go to http://twitter.com/IrishPolitics * where you register as a ‘follower’ and finally register for phone updates from that ‘friend’.
