Tax the poor

Gerry Adams think the Celtic Tiger’s benefits could impact on the Loyalist working class but Chambers Ireland doesn’t like how much working class communities presently benefit. It has criticised the RoI government for prioritising tax cuts for the low paid. Presently 40% of Irish workers do not pay tax income tax, CI believes this should be reduced to 33%. (Hat Tip WT).

The even more moneyed wing of the PDs? Just lovely, but not surprised in the slightest. Roll on the revolution Gerry…

  • I thought SF were never done complaining that the Celtic Tiger was just making the richer rich? Or is that just 26CPSF? I can never keep up.

“Presently 40% of Irish workers do not pay tax”

Not true. They pay plenty of VAT. Then there’s alcohol/cigarette/fuel duty. What about PRSI?
