UUP in the clear on party funds

The Electoral Commission has cleared the UUP of wrongdoing over its failure to disclose some party funds.

  • Oilibhear Chromaill

There’s no clarity, however, on the monies collected by the UUP in 2004 when Ronald Lauder organised a major fund raiser for them in an exclusive Manhattan restuarant. Over £100k collected.

  • To change the subject entirely, I wonder how DCI Yates over at Scotland Yard is getting on with his cash for peerages inquiry?

an historic day- good news for the UUP at last. Mind you, we’re bound to be close to a decision in the Arlene Foster libel case against the party and Lord Maginnis :0)

  • The old “oversight” defence, works everytime !!

    (1) sorry we did not reveal the two bank accounts, it was an oversight, we have put in place procedures that will prevent this from happening in the future.

Thats alright then, don’t do it again.

    (2) sorry we did not pay tax on assets acumilated, it was an oversight, we have put in place procedures that will prevent this from happening in the future.
Thats alright then, don’t do it again.

    (3) sorry we, Tony Blair, Lord Levy, did not declare the cash for honours, it was an oversight, we have put in place procedures that will prevent this from happening in the future.

Thats alright then, don’t do it again.

The old “Oversight” defence, works everytime !!

Not exactly “cleared”. After all, Cunningplan House has promised to improve its record keeping.

More “wrong, but not liable to criminal prosecution”.
