SF condems burning of Orange Hall in Lurgan

Just to be very clear how the leaders of Republicanism feel about the burning of the Orange Hall in Lurgan, I’m going to post the Sinn Féin official response. No-one can ever be fully responsible for the mindsets of individuals, but I think its worth making ourselves aware that there is no room in SF for the toleration of this behaviour.

Sectarianism, irrespective of its source or who or what it is directed against, is wrong and I have no hesitation in condeming this attack.

“Those involved need to desist from this type of behaviour. The overnight arson attack on Kilmore Orange Hall was wrong and serves no purpose other than to create and heighten community tensions. Regardless of whoever was behind this, the reality is that such actions are totally unacceptable and should stop.

Nice example of cheek-turning above. My advice to you, if you wish to continue living in Newry, is to drop the Orangie confrontational ethos and try to persuade your neighbours that you are a decent Protestant Irishman who wishes to get on with everyone and live in peace.

If you have issues with the St Patrick’s day celebrations please raise them with the Council and Sinn Féin, taking care to portray yourself as an innocent victim of inconsiderate triumphalism, rather than the manifestation of the same which you currently are.

But I might as well be talking to a brick wall. Just carry on the way you are, and if you are lucky, you and the rest of the Orange Lodge might get the IRA up and running again.

  • Thank You

    Well Well Well

paddy, the mask has well and truly slipped

“My advice to you, if you wish to continue living in Newry, is to drop the Orangie confrontational ethos and try to persuade your neighbours that you are a decent Protestant Irishman”

I dont need advice from s-c-u-m like you, im a proud orangeman from Newry, and im not afraid of filth like you. ive lived in newry all my life, and intend to contunue living there.

“Just carry on the way you are, and if you are lucky, you and the rest of the Orange Lodge might get the IRA up and running again”

Ahh the old veiled threat, nice approach paddy. I have lost several friends and relatives from Newry and the surrounding area at the hands of the IRA, and you dont scare me. Ive stood up to the scum before, and id do it again. i wont be intimidated by riff raff like you.

You have shown paddy when you lose the argument, you resort to threats and intimidation. Bully Boys like you have nothing to offer society.

It really is a refreshing insight into “an ireland of equals” if there ever was one, and i think the most telling line is “persuade your neighbours that you are a decent Protestant Irishman”, ah yes what you mean is be a good little prod, go away, and dont say or do anything we dont like. Paddy i dont have to “persuade” anyone who i am. I had alot of catholics in newry asking me did i go to the 12th and have a good day. Thankfully not everyone is a twised mofo like you.

Please understand that no threats are involved. I live in London, not Newry. If I say, don’t provoke that dog, it might bite you, this is advice intended for your benefit, not a threat. I am not going to bite you.

Well they obviously have more of a sense of humour in Newry than I give them credit for.
