So, how’s YOUR union keeping…?

AFTER a flying visit to Northern Ireland, Congressman Jim Walsh invited DUP leader Ian Paisley over to hear President Bush’s key State of the Union address, which is about to start on TV. It’s a far cry from the day Tony Blair prevented the DUP from meeting Bush at Hillsborough, and comes at a time when relations between Sinn Fein and the current administration just aren’t what they used to be. This is unlikely to be the last of the US charm offensive of the DUP and continuing pressure on SF over policing.

Maybe it helps to explain this:

Gerry Adams calls on the US to rein in anti-Sinn Fein elements within its system

Is Jim Walsh one of these elements? Who are the other elements?

Anyone listening to Bush? On the war on terror, he seems to be saying “In order to bring freedom to the rest of the world, you lot are going to have to lose some at home.”

Apart from that, some of the bigger politicians look as though they’re having a hard time bouncing up and down for the plentiful standing ovations…

Fantastic spectacle, but Bush is kinda scary. AND he said ‘nuculear’. Twice.

    About 43% are now.

I don’t. You’ll learn more from reruns of the Simpsons.

    I don’t watch Moore’s documentaries like Farenheit 911 either.

I’d just reflect on how powerless we have been to stop this train wreck.

Either way it’d just piss me off.
