McNarry finally denies going PC…

“I WOULD point out that I have not applied to be a member of the Parades Commission nor its chairman,” writes UUP Assembly member and Parades Commission critic David McNarry in the Belfast Telegraph’s letters page today. Glad to clarify matters. I guess the Sunday Times report of January 30, 2000 must be completely wrong.

Did he deny it at the time?
And how’s about an apology to Brian Kennaway (sp?) for his disgraceful behaviour on Radio Ulster.

Kennaway doesn’t owe an apology. He merely sought clarification in a reasonable manner.

McNarry couldn’t give a civilised or definitive answer at the time, but now he has.

End of matter, I would’ve thought.

I said, an apology TO Kenneway, who if I recall correctly McNarry called “a creep” for mentioning the Belfast Telegraph story.
McNarry showed himself to be a nasty piece of work. He’s got a bit more explaining to do yet in my opinion.

    Sorry, read you wrong.

McNarry’s comments were unbecoming of an MLA, though sadly all too common in NI.

Ironically, his poor behaviour on the radio just fuelled the speculation about his Parades Commission (non)application.

If he had said on Seven Days what he wrote in the letter there would have been no debate.
