A sound warning…

COULD this be the riot control weapon of choice in the near future..? Well, they’ve tested nearly everything else, but this is still the preferred option.

I think RUC/PSNI will prefer shooting innocent men, women and children {as well as the rioters} with their weapon of choice, the Rubber Bullet.

  • When ear drums start being bursted and compensation claims come rolling they’d be searching for a new weapon.

‘sounds’ like a good weapon to me ! id be happy if they stuck one of these on each ear of a rioter and gave him a full blast…

Its simple, just blast Daniel O`Donnell records over the loud speakers, thats enough to drive anyone crazy!

  • Nestor Makhno

Not sure how this would work in situations like Belfast with its small streets – too much chance of baffling caused by walls, etc (which is probably why using it at sea is ideal).

Maybe they should use a more subtle approach (which I think the US military are also toying with) – ‘infrasounds’ – extremely low frequency sounds that make the listener feel physically terrified… Charming.

Daniel O`Donnell records would probably have the same effect !

Sorry guys, but I think the legal question needs to be raised! From a legal point of view, the use of a weapon that can damage one of the body’s 5 senses to the point of rendering it useless must be incompatible with the European Convention on Human Rights and the Human Rights Act 1998. It would be difficult to argue that its use is propotional in most cases of riot, unless there was a very real threat to life.

Ok, let the ‘criminals dont deserve human rights’ comments start now!
