Relatives for just keeping people apart…

WHEN Desmond Tutu facilitated a meeting between loyalist serial-killer-turned-painter Michael Stone and the family of one of his victims for a TV programme, Mark Thompson of Relatives for Justice tried to dissuade the Archbishop from attending.I wonder if Jo Berry & Pat Magee would have approved, or even Community Restorative Justice, which often brings victims and criminals together for the purpose of some form of restitution. Or is it, as in the case of IRA fugitives, that mainstream republicans only want victims and terrorists to meet when it suits their purposes.

I guess Mr Thompson must know better than the former chair of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission or the victims of Michael Stone.

It’s impossible to see how Mark Thompson can reconcile this to his statements elsewhere on the basis of anything other than pure tribalism.

“Mark Thompson of Relatives for Justice tried to dissuade the Archbishop from attending”

Name needs changed to Relatives for Justice IRA/SF front– nowhere do they include the relatives of the thousands murdered by the IRA/SF.
Justice only for the relatives of the murder gangs??

If they are in receipt on any public funds they should be relaimed ASAP

  • Kenny

So banshee, groups such as Fair must be renamed, Fair/we only acknowledge those killed by the IRA?

Nowhere do they include the relatives of the hundreds murdered by RUC/UDR/RIR collusion.
And the thousand or so murdered by loyalists?

  • Shore Road Resident

    Errr, yes, that’s the point.
RFJ is clearly just the ‘Catholic’ version of FAIR – and about as credible.

  • TAFKABO

The obvious solution is for both organisations to merge and become one.
Families Acting for Innocent Relatives joins with Relatives for Justice. And since they would obviously want to emphasise that no side took precendence over the other, there new name could be
    Neither Fair nor Just

All in all I think it would be better description of the two.

  • TAFKABO

    Mick.

Any chance of an edit function in this place, or do I have to go to the bother of learning to read and write proper English?

  • GavBelfast

Why is anyone in any way surprised at what has happened here?

Some peoples quest for justice can be very subjective, not to say conditional.

    TAFKABO

If you could edit, people would change their posts. It leads to trolling.

    Kenny

So an IRA murderer shot as they say “on active service” deserves the same consideration as an unarmed civil servant shotby the IRA in front of his five year old daughter~?

or “heros” who shot policemen in the back of head in a seaside resort ran like fuck and then complained when similar “justice” was handed out to them.???
    Don’t think so —

I know the propaganda machine tries hard to create a victims charter– the facts however speak for themselves.

Murders by Security forces –As SF continually girns “where is the proof”

  • Kenny

barnshee, so collusion between the RUC and loyalists never happened?

The RUC and Special branch and the UDR/RIR never murdered innocent Catholics, the British Army never never murdered innocent Catholics???

As for the evidence, you`re either very dumb or living in a cloud cuckoo land of denial!

  • Shore Road Resident

This thread is now heading for exactly the same territory as RFJ and FAIR occupy. Depressing. Also, boring.

    Kenny

    Quote from Maurice Hayes

“It is a little-noticed fact too that six police officers died for every one shot by them”

(Given the circumstances I am amazed that more police/security forces did not run amuck)

I have absolutely no doubt that security force personel connived at murder I`m only surprised that more did not.

YONE who acted outside the law should be brought to justice.

We are talking here about hierarchy of victimhood and the attempts by SF inspired organisations to equate the death of “volunteers” actively involved in murder, with deaths of wholly innocent civilians.

I an happy witha case by case consideration- genuine victims ONLY please

    So answer the question

an IRA murderer shot as they say “on active service” deserves the same consideration as an unarmed civil servant shot by the IRA in front of his five year old daughter~? Yes No?

“Nowhere do they include the relatives of the hundreds murdered by RUC/UDR/RIR collusion.”

Perhaps you would like to cite what source you are using to allege ‘hundreds’ were killed by collusion?
