facing extradition proceedings

No, not that extradition case. This is another case. Leonard Hardy, who served 5 years in the Republic of Ireland for possession of explosives in 1990, was arrested in Spain today on a warrant issued by the authorities in Germany. According to the RTE report, he is wanted for questioning about an IRA attack on a British Army base in Osnabruck in 1989 and the attempted murder of a British Army employee.. the Belfast Telegraph also has a report.. and the BBC has Sinn Féin TD Arthur Morgan’s reaction – “It is my firm view this man should be released and allowed to return home to his family in Ireland without any further delay.”

We are reader supported. Donate to keep Slugger lit!

For over 20 years, Slugger has been an independent place for debate and new ideas. We have published over 40,000 posts and over one and a half million comments on the site. Each month we have over 70,000 readers. All this we have accomplished with only volunteers we have never had any paid staff.

Slugger does not receive any funding, and we respect our readers, so we will never run intrusive ads or sponsored posts. Instead, we are reader-supported.
