At his first monthly press conference as the newly returned British Prime Minister, Tony Blair seemed to echo the comments of Irish Minister Dermot Ahern when, according to the BBC report (and I’ll just link to the actual speech by Gerry Adams that the BBC refers to), Blair said that he could not make people move forward but if there was a complete end to IRA violence then he believed the DUP would share power. (there’s a video link on the page to the entire press conference there, but no direct link to the relevant section). So, Dermot Ahern and Tony Blair appear to be on the same page.. will Bertie hold that line?
