Sinn Fein’s strategy

Alex Maskey delivers Sinn Fein’s latest assessment of the current health of the Peace Process.

The crux of the speech’s demands appear to revolve around three primary elements:

– a new police service which nationalists and republicans can support and join.

– irreversible and transparent legislation securing human rights and justice for everyone.

– parity of esteem for cultural rights and identity across society.

Given these three things, it seems to say, all other issues seem to be settled from Sinn Fein’s point of view at least for the short to medium term.

For over 20 years, Slugger has been an independent place for debate and new ideas. We have published over 40,000 posts and over one and a half million comments on the site. Each month we have over 70,000 readers. All this we have accomplished with only volunteers we have never had any paid staff.

Slugger does not receive any funding, and we respect our readers, so we will never run intrusive ads or sponsored posts. Instead, we are reader-supported.
