NI Auditor General: “a larger number of accounts than usual received qualifications on the grounds of truth and fairness and/or regularity grounds”

The BBC reports the Northern Ireland Comptroller and Auditor General’s report to the NI Assembly on the results of the financial audit on the accounts for 2009-10 of Executive departments and other public sector bodies. NI Water: Is the Audit Office about to take the gloves off?

On Friday, Diana Rusk had an interesting take on the NI Water issue. She highlights a memo from last April in which the Finance Minister, Sammy Wilson, responds to a request for an explanation for why Price-Waterhouse Coopers awarded Northern Ireland Water exemplar status on its procurement practice, when the same organisation has just sacked its Board for the same issue.
