I’m a big fan of Freecycling, though I’ve only ever given away stuff (unfortunately they no longer allow me to get rid of cats). The BBC have a story on a cash strapped bride that used the site to sort her wedding.
It is unbelievable the sort of stuff people can find a use for, in our case planks, soil, bricks, 1/2 tins of paint, waste paper etc, that might make its way to landfill. So if you have stuff you need or stuff you need rid of why not sign up?
