The World Bank President blog is launched today. Given the focus of news agendas on development stories, it’s a fascinating and timely site. Its aim is to widen the debate on who gets to be the next president (in the gift of the incumbent of the US Presidency).
David Steven writes on how the current man got his post, whilst Alex Wilks explains how the World Trade Organisation looks like an open picnic for the Third World, by comparison. The plan is to open discussion, and examine the candidates. Essential reading for international development freaks, NGOs and assorted inhouse policy wonks!
A slightly inhuman presence that bans bad comments and works late at night to remove the wrinkles in Slugger’s technical carpet. You will need to know about the comments policy to stay off the fightin’ side of me and there is a bit of background about me here. You can email me using this spam-proof link if you really need to, and Slugger is @sluggerotoole on Twitter. But above all, remember, Play the ball and not the man.
